The people behind the counter
It turns out that running a community space requires a lot of chair management, troubleshooting, and good cheer.

Alexis Madrigal
Alexis was spending too much time at East Bay Booksellers, and decided to move in next door. He’s a writer, radio host, lover of children, and kisser of dogs. He came up in rural Washington making money by “doing computers,” and Local Economy has finally allowed him to return to his roots in IT and running the A/V cart.

Sarah Rich
Sarah is a writer, editor and generally handy person who loves creating spaces for people to gather. Local Economy has allowed her to weave many of her passions and professional skills into one ongoing project of building community and existing within it. When not rearranging the furniture at the shop, she is rearranging the furniture at home.

Regina Hunt
Bio goes here: two or three sentences on who Regina is and what she does at the shop.

Nara Bopp
Nara stumbled into Local Economy as a hopeful volunteer at exactly the right moment and promptly fell head over heels. Her eclectic background includes working in rural nonprofits, hosting a call-in advice radio show, running a thrift store, coordinating enormous free community meals, and operating a small jewelry business…all of which she likes to think prepared her for life as a Local Economy steward! She lives in Oakland with her partner, baby, and dog, and loves coffee, crafts, pastries, and trashy TV shows.
-
Orion
Orion is the older of two unpaid youth interns at Local Economy, and loves to read, draw and above all, listen to the My Favorite Murder podcast. They like to spend time with their friends and stress over pointless things. When they are not at the shop, they are in their bed.

Flora Madrigal
Flora is Alexis and Sarah’s younger kid. She loves babies, squishies, dogs and getting her nails done. She loves going to the shop to help out and then going next door to the bookstore and reading. When she isn’t at LE, she is either dancing or at school.
